Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership - Student Profiles

Biography

I read history at Queen Mary, University of London, staying on for my Master's in 'Islam and the West.' My main interest lies in the religious landscape of the Ottoman empire, and at present I am examining the Hajj as a window to understand issues around religious devotion and religion and material and visual culture. Other interests include Islamic law and society and the history of Islam in Britain.
