Biography

Patrick Brennan was born in Derry, Northern Ireland. He studied piano at the Royal College of Music and composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Danish Academy of Music. His principal teachers have included Julian Anderson and Hans Abrahamsen. His music has won acclaim both nationally and internationally, with recent commissions coming from the London Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, as part of the IRCAM ManiFeste course for young composers. He has been selected to represent Ireland at the ISCM World Music Days 2015 in Ljubljana.
