Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership - Student Profiles

Biography

I completed my undergraduate degree and MA by research in theology at the University of Durham, focusing in particular upon the works of Meister Eckhart. Drawing upon Eckhart's theology, I am currently working to develop disability theology by exploring how the practical exclusion of people with intellectual disabilities from church and theology overlaps with a similar exclusion of God from individual's lives and communities and considering how we might respond to this problem today. This project combines a number of interests including Christian spirituality, apophatic and trinitarian theology, human identity, and the fruitful application of theological teaching to practical and philosophical issues in contemporary society and the church.

Other academic interests:

Medieval theology, metaphysics, mysticism, equality and diversity, spirituality and health.
