Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership - Student Profiles

Biography

I am a PhD Candidate at Pembroke College, Cambridge. I am researching the history of women's reproductive health in Ghana from 1920 - 1980. I am particularly interested on how various discourses of development affected health implementation and women's experiences during the course of this period. Before this, I studied International History at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. I also have a First Class (Honours) BA in History and Italian from the University of Warwick. My previous work looked at the history of maternal and child welfare in the colonial Gold Coast.
